Got a BHAF fleetguard AH19037 installed recently. No need to rig up a mount or wire it up, as I seen from Farmall's truck in Indy we can just clamp it to our intake tube and sit it on the fender. As far as critters eating at it, well they first have to get through the wire mesh that surrounds the filter to begin with. Easy job, remove the factory airbox, undo the intake tube from the airbox cover, clamp it to the neck of the BHAF, which is tough, as I have read its wimpy, as long as u dont johnny armstrong it, I didnt have any problems. Bill, Farmall, said he's run his through rain, sleet, slush now etc and hasnt got it wet, the water would have to come up and then to the side and back to get at the filter. Just be aware when the hood is wet and you open it, wipe it off first as you can get the filter wet from water dripping or running off the hood onto it. Thanks for the ideas and info Bill.

Now the part you want to hear I imagine, as far as boost over a K&N inside unmodified factory airbox, maybe 1-2 pounds of boost gained. But what I thought was good, which I need the most of, being non-intercooled, a drop of about 50*egt at highway speeds. Having stacks and a loud truck, havent noticed a new turbo whine or whatever some have experienced with this setup. Possibly with only 50 miles on this setup, dont really hear or experience the 'turbo cough' or 'bark' as frequent or loud as with the airbox and K&N.

Price, K&N near $65, Fleetguard AH19037 $39. More pics in readers rigs-bgilberts trucks. Bill

Add an outerwears prefilter to it so it will keep the air cleaner dry. I can't remember the part number but if you search for it in the archives it will be there.

That or put the K&N to the only use it's good for- as a prefilter to keep out the big rocks and sticks. The stores around here want $50+ for the BHAF, and that's getting it as a farm use.  Another reason not to come here.

One more thing  - Have you come up with a way to keep out the engine heat, come summertime? I know that will lose you any EGT gains you made with it. I have a few ideas, but need to get the BHAF first... .....

BHAF, Fleetguard...

Anyone else use bgilbert's set-up? If you have, can you post long term performance results? This looks like a simple low cost BHAF. What do you think:D? Patrick.

thats the way mine has been for the last 100,000 miles or so. no problems at all but can get a loud turbo bark if spooled up good. max boost has been 22 psi.
