About how many miles or months do you run your BHAF before changing to a new one? Mine is a Fleetguard AH19037 with 17,000 miles. What are the performance signs that it needs a change?

Patrick in Southern CA, San Bernardino, mild weather, on road driving, gridlock here and there... everywhere :-laf

I've had mine on for about 8k or so, but I have a outerwears pre-filter over it... if you take the pre-filter off the filter itself still looks brand new...

Filter Change???????

My buses use the BHAF and use the vacuum gauge installed into the intake just prior to turbo inlet. (The filter minder) I have only changed one air filter. I was thinking that these little buggars are junk and dumb.

My buses range from new to 145,000 miles and had yet seen one require a filter.

Not too long ago, one of my ISB's with 114,000 miles showed red line on the filter minder and I replaced the filter. Not easy to do after five years and 114,000 miles.

The gauge now shows a clear window.

Hope this helps some.
