Give me BHAF or Give me Stock.

Myself I agree, that either I go with BHAF, or I will remain stock. A detailed parts list with numbers would be a plus for sure.



I'm not knocking anyone for using K&N, AFE Pro 7, or any of the others, I just want a filter I can just throw away an not have to mess with clean up or possible over oiling.



The last Geno's catalog I got with Issue 46 is showing a Fleetguard AF26106 replacement now for the 03-05 3G's. I wonder if filteration is same as Mopar filter or better. It is cheaper in price than the Mopar.

Tony I couldn't agree more I had a BHAF on my 2nd gen with no probs with silicon in the oil and it had 292k on it when I sold. Just my . 02 worth

This may sound goofy, but my "dream" air filter would be a BHAF mounted in one of those semi-truck filter canisters (the ones that sit outside the cab). I'd mount it up on my headache rack. Can't seem to find any for sale, though (what's the official name for them?). And plumbing it would be tough. But I think it'd be cool.

what's that blue thing over top of the filter? And is there any danger in getting the filter wet?



the blue thing is an outerwears pre filter. the prefilter is water repellent. there is the risk of water getting in/on the filter, so that's why i went with the outerwears prefilter...





the PN of the prefilter is WR3325-105/20-1085-02

Check out a big truck wrecker wherever you live. I am sure you will find something like that at a fraction of the price. You will probably have to pull it off yourself though.

It looks like you went from a quick 90 steel elbow to a more elaborate custom rubber setup.



What did you do a bout the MAF sensor in the second design?



What is under the heat tape? a steel pipe?



Are the rubber parts plumbing stuff or automotive intake hose?

I would think any truck junk yard would have an air cleaner from a semi. Probably better to get a dry air cleaner, but there's probably nothing wrong with an oil bath either. I'd mount it on your headache rack so it draws in cool and clean air from up high. You could run your air via hoses and or pvc pipe under the cab and up along the exhaust.

yeah. i first piped it using the factory intake piping, but i wanted more turbo noise...



... so in went in the rubber elbows. the rubber elbows are standard 4" intake rubber elbows. i got them from a local place, but online they can be had here.



i reused that steel short radius and yep, that is what is under the heet wrap.



as for the sensor, it is held on with one screw to the battery tray [same position as 1st design]. i've been planning on making an adapter for it so i can stick it between the filter and the 1st rubber elbow, but i haven't gotten around to it. all it does is measure intake air temp and pressure [barometric] so it will read a higher pressure out of the piping system and temp is close...



i will eventually make the pipe piece for the sensor, but i'll need to get some oxy-acyteline tanks [mine are empty] or get a tig machine. i did fab one up using my flux core mig, but the welds don't come out pretty with it on thinner stuff, so i scrapped it.
