I think the NAPA I have is #2970. The one from Cummins is #AH19037.

Incidently, mine lowered my smoke so much that I can't even smoke a bicycle. It also lowered my 0 to 60 time by almost a second. And it lowered my EGT's some, but not much. The thing that puzzles me is that it seems to have more hold back coming from 9000ft down to 4000 ft.

Same for me

WyoJim,

I noticed the same thing coming down the hill from N of Reno down into Reno. Seem to need less throttle.

Forrest, For the life od me I am unable to reason out this phenomenon.

Highway 14 down to our place runs from 5 to 8 percent and I now come down it a gear higher. Where I used to use second gear, I now use 3rd, which would be locked out of OD. Thats with the camper on. Weird!!

I've only had this happen one other time to me, but on a different truck. I had a 95 V-10, automatic. It had 2 CAT's going into 1 muffler. I swapped out the muffler in favor of 2 Flowmasters. Talk about wake it up. :D But, it did the same thing. I noticed it & thought I was going crazy.

You know how a vacuum motor turns faster when you plug the hose? (I guess from less restriction from not moving air. ) Perhaps its the same principle. More air is getting into the cylinder, creating more psi, making it harder to turn over coasting.

The "hold back" on my exhaust brake seems to be slightly diminished with the BHAF. May be just my imagination. I should get around to putting the 880 back on for a sanity check I suppose. If it is real then the other benefits outweigh it anyway.

QRTRHRS - I did the same thing. I put back on the stock filter w/K&N to verify the difference in turbo lag. The BHAF reduced the HX40 lag so much I couldn't believe it!
