Triple lock vs. single??

New short block or low mileage?

I have been looking to no avail for someplace to buy a BHAF online. Fleetguard AH19037 Marine version. Any info will be much appreciated. TIA

I work at a John Deere dealership, and I can get them cheaper through them than anywhere else. Might give one a try if there is on local.

I live in Tijeras, have a distributor in town, (abujerky) that will order anything you need from Donaldson, Freightliner, etc. PM me and I'll get you in touch with them, they'll get it outa Denver, and ship it to you. Ron

Thanks for the info, Gents.

CP98 - that's a Donaldson filter. Those are on the Cummins "approved" list, no?

BTW, the "Marine " version costs about three times the price of the non-marine version.

This exact same filter with the same label can also be had at Napa #2790 and Carquest #87790.

I would be hesitant to say they are the exact same filter. There has been some discussion before about the flow ratings of the various brands of BHAF's. Here is something taken from a post from Vaughn MacKenzie

"This is something to remember regarding BHAFs. . . they probably aren't created equal.

Fleetguard BHAF = 918 CFM flowrate, per Cummins

Wix/NAPA BHAF = 680 CFM flowrate, per Wix

What resistance these are measured at as far as inches of water I do not know, so these numbers can't really be directly compared. But if they are similar, it would explain why some have better results than others with the BHAF. "

Although as said in Vaughn's comments we re unsure if these numbers can be directly compared, but it is possible that they could be. If so the Fleetguard is certainly a better choice.

IMHO I would opt for a Fleetguard if at all possible.

What I'm saying is that those with the "Dura Lite" label are the same. I have used both the Napa and Carquest ones and they are identical in every way. I can't comment on the fleetgaurd as I have never seen one. If the fleetgaurd did indeed flow that much better using the same measuring standard then yes it would be the best. I find it hard to believe it could flow that much more and be the same size. I might try to find a fleetgaurd next time so I can see what they look like.

Here is something very interesting that I have to add to this.

I picked up my new Fleetguard BHAF today (AH19037) and on the box next to the PN is said DURALITE? It also had a supplier code on the label which I do not think you can see easily in the picture. So it appears that Fleetguard is not making these filters themselves.

Maybe there is only one company making these things?
