Ok Guys I have been reading allot about BHAF and AFE Filter Stage 2. My questions is isn't the AFE a oiled filter element, like the K&N And I have read were you do not want to use a oiled filter element for fear of hurting the MAP sensor?? Which one is working best for you

I haven't tried the AFE, so I don't know about its performance. But I can say for a fact that I'm happy with my BHAF.

I think AFE has an oiled filter and a dry filter (like the red (oiled) K&N and the green (dry) K&N).

Yes, the AFE is an oiled filter but it's not quite like the K&N. It filters much better , actually passes more air & doesn't foul the sensor. The big advantage to the BHAF is it's high performance at LOW price. I belive air flow test show the stage I & II AFE's flow a little more air but it's not so much as to show much on a dyno.

We gained 8hp by changing out a bhaf to an AFE on a modified 12v on the dyno. Back to back never unstrapped the truck. Oo.

That's pretty impressive. I don't think 8 hp is enough to make the SOP meter rise any, but obviously it works. And if you ran the BHAF first and then the AFE on a hot truck its probably an even bigger difference.

The AFE Pro Guard 7 (yellow) filter uses 7 layers of filter material, while a K&N and the standard AFE (blue) uses 5 layers of material.

I am thinking you meant 285?On my 94 I have a LOT of torque and am very happy with my 3. 55. 's running 315 tires with a5 speed. The auto has a little bit higher od ratio. It does tend to make me tow a little faster than some people Outside of Cali it is perfect,in Cali I watch my mirrors a bit more. The aistream handles so nice it has never been an issue even in gusty desert conditions. The 05 prefers higher rpm,I am running 4'10's with 315's on that one. Hope this is what you were looking for.
