Big amp

The 4 channel amp that I ordered for my truck is much larger than I thought. I don't think that there is a reasonable way to make it fit under the drivers seat. I was wonering if anyone has put amps behind the rear seats of a 2005 Quad cab. I have the MTX thunderform with 2 10's under the seats so that space is pretty much gone.

I also need to figure out how to take the rear seats apart without damaging anything?

Just remove the bolts that attach the seats to the floor and the lift them straight up. Also if you flip the latches on the the rear of the cab you can lower the seat backs without taking the bolts out again (just in case you need to do any amp adjustments or swaps)

How is the airflow back there and also does that leave enough room to still move the seats up and down????

I put mine under the passenger seat and cut the 2" wide bar that is connecting the tracks together and relocated the jack and tools to the little area behind the back seat (behind the speaker box that is under the seat). You could probably do the same to the drivers seat if is not power.

There is a flat shelf of sorts between the "under rear seat" storage area and the rear of the cab. Directly below the rear seat back. I found that there was enough room there to mount a ham radio receiver, an antenna tuner, and a 4-channel amp for my stereo.

I have the same relative setup, anyone interested I have several pictures in my readers rig section. The setup is very nice and produces very good low end bass.

The box sounds real good Very nice bass. The box was around $350. 00 if I remember right, with speakers mounted. I have the amp installed against the back firewall of the truck underneath the smaller of the two fold up seats. All in all nice clean setup that sounds awesome! Only thing is if someone is sitting in the back seat and you turn it up it gives them quite a little wake up call.

Are you guys running aftermarkeft headunits or line output convertors with the factory radio? Im having some issues with my subs and the line output convertors. I just dont want to change the headunit out with the 6 disc changer in dash and the sirrius radio and also the controls on the wheel. Anyone know if they make adapters for the sirrius for aftermarket radios or the steering wheel controls?

I replaced my original stock head unit, with an Alpine IVA-D310 in dash dvd. The original was only a standard single cd player with no controls on steering wheel. I also added Sirius radio which was fairly cheap, (less then $100. 00 for antenna and box).

hey ddave they do make after market ad ons so if you want to put in a difernet head unit you can use your steering wheel controles and keep your factory sirrius good luck hey rflow who makes the sub box
