Competition So I think I'm down to the low to mid 13's

Competition Best place to get water/meth?

If I get the equation correct:

HP X 5252

---------- = Torque

RPM

Big turbos take time to spoolup thus the HP is less % wise due to the RPM needed for a given HP. This is why we see trucks with small HX-35 turbos make big torque numbers compared to HP, normally over twice the torque as HP for this setup.

Kinda like my 372HP and 944TQ :D

I will have new #'s in a few weeks with the smarty. My TQ should be even higher than it is now

Enter your hp figures for around 2200-2500 rpm and see what torque you get then.

The closer to 5252rpm you get, the closer together your hp/torque figures will be to each other.

Thanks for the kind words guy's, its been fun.

Right now I am still very undecided, I do know that I need to build my nest egg back up before retirment from the service. Who knows maybe congress will buy off the 40 year 100% plan :-laf

FYI, I added some pricing to the description on the ebay listing if interested, and HINT HINT my reserve is under $30K :(

One thing I dont understand about hopped up diesels (I know that the auction isnt over yet, but Scott just said that his reserve is under $30k) is that you very rarely get your money out of them. I am pretty sure that Scott has almost ALL that you can do to a Cummins, and yet he is taking it on the chin with what he has put into it.

I ran into the same problem when I was trying to sell my 2001 7. 3 Powerstroke. I did a lot of mods; big injectors, turbo, intercooler, fuel system, chip, the list goes on and on. I also took it on the chin trying to get rid of it. I ended up selling it for basically what the truck was worth, without all the mods.

I guess that there is a very small niche or buyers that are interested in modded trucks/diesels. BigBadDodge is one of the more famous trucks, in my opinion, it was on the COVER of DieselPower a few months ago

I'm done rambling; back on topic!

Unfortunately, that is USUALLY the case when selling modded/customized vehicles - the seller rarely regains more than a fraction of the cost of the add-ons. An owner better figure that the changes he makes are being done for his OWN enjoyment - and THAT is where the value is, not in a future resale...

As for Scott's truck, I'd love to be able to buy that paint job! ;) :-laf

Damn, that reminds me I forgot to add the cost of the custom paint job LOL :-laf

I realized several years ago that I wouldn't get even close to what I have in it if at any time I decided to sell it, as you mention it was built for my own enjoyment :D

I'm in the motorcycle/ATV business and a used bike or ATV that's stock, never been messed with, is always worth more than one that's been modded. People may want to mod their vehicles but they want to buy a used vehicle that's stock. That said, there are exemptions to that rule like Big Bad Dodge that are proven specialties.
