I have a 2003 with a California engine, yes I know, that sucks! But I installed an Edge EZ tow a couple of years back. I am sure that most of you know that it comes with an elbow that is used to allow the wastegate on the turbo to stay closed longer. I decided today to finally install it to see what it would do. I had also called an Edge distributor to see what I should expect. He told me that the boost should go up 1 or 2 psi. Keep in mind that when I am running a full throttle the boost tops at 23. 5 psi. Which when I first put on my BD gauge in they said I would only get about 20 psi. After I installed the elbow and I hit the throttle going down the freeway ramp I was at 30. 4 psi! I throught WOW, but the WOW didn't last long. Sure had the boost but I did not notice any difference in performance, which that surprised me. But why?
Is it because the engine isn't juiced up enough? Other than the Edge, I have a 4" exhaust (not standrad on 03's) and a AFE filter system.
#@$%!
