I have a 2003 with a California engine, yes I know, that sucks! But I installed an Edge EZ tow a couple of years back. I am sure that most of you know that it comes with an elbow that is used to allow the wastegate on the turbo to stay closed longer. I decided today to finally install it to see what it would do. I had also called an Edge distributor to see what I should expect. He told me that the boost should go up 1 or 2 psi. Keep in mind that when I am running a full throttle the boost tops at 23. 5 psi. Which when I first put on my BD gauge in they said I would only get about 20 psi. After I installed the elbow and I hit the throttle going down the freeway ramp I was at 30. 4 psi! I throught WOW, but the WOW didn't last long. Sure had the boost but I did not notice any difference in performance, which that surprised me. But why?

Is it because the engine isn't juiced up enough? Other than the Edge, I have a 4" exhaust (not standrad on 03's) and a AFE filter system. #@$%!

You have to add a corresponding amount of fuel to make more power. My quadzilla box has boost fooling on all four settings, stock-30-60-100hp. The added boost within the turbos capabilities, cools the egts until you add more fuel, then it balances out, or in the case of the highest seting you se some higher egts because the turbo can't keep up, or admittedly, the programming isn't as sophisticated as a Smarty that can make extra power without extra heat:eek:

So the answer is add, more fuel, make more power, feel the WOW. Boost pressure alone wont do it.

I have my Edge set at the lowest setting. If I increased it that would of course induce more fuel. Or is this not the right thinking?

Yes, setting the edge on higher settings will send more fuel in, and you should be able to feel the power. I can feel a difference on my truck on the 30hp setting and a huge difference on the 60hp setting.

I think you are going to run out of fuel from the factory lift pump at the higher RPM's. When I put the FASS on I was a able to drive through 3200 RPM because I wasn't starving the CP3 pump.

Run out of fuel with an EZ?????????Not likely. I can run my quad on 100hp and not run short on fuel. Maybe once you get to 150 added hp you will need the extra but below that the stock system is fine.

I think the only difference is going to be your egt's, I did mine a few months back went from 21psi to 30psi and noticed the egt's don't stay in the upper range on long hills as it did before. Hope my experience answered your question.
