Has anyone ever tried using a borg warner big brother with the 71cm turbine as just a big single and making the lag with drugs? is my idea just a lost cause or am i onto a cheaper way of gettin the power i want?

oh yeah, this will be on a 12 valve that i dont have yet... . im just doing some research and planning ahead of time so when i get it, i can have everything goin onto it asap!

whats the biggest #cm should i go with for my puller? im lookin at near the 600hp mark or more... ... ..... i dont want twins just yet and im trying to keep a good budget so whats you folks ideas? maybe a 62cm turbine? lit with drugs before the big boost comes in will be the prefered method

Huge!

I saw a Big Brother last night, and it's HUGE!! I think it must say, Mack, EMD, Pratt and Whitney, or GE on it somewhere:rolleyes: One of the CT Guys is planning to use it as a Bottom Charger on a Twins 12 Valve setup, Moose :-laf

my god that is one BIG son of a b!tch!!!!! any advice yet on which turbo to use? im lookin at the II PS 62... . i know it says it supports up to 550hp but do ya think i can get higher numbers in total out of a setup with it included?

adam

I have the PS 62/14, and I'm skeptical that it could handle the fuel at 550hp and hold EGTs in check. My skepticism probably relates to living at 7800ft elev. In fact, I doubt any single will handle that chore without backing off on fuel. Twins are in my future - probably the II setup with the K31.

what kinda #s are ya puttin down washburn? im in kansas city so i know i should get some better 3s at this lower elevation but im not sure by how much... ... ... ... ...

There's no dyno in my neighborhood. The closest is probably 3hrs away. About the only number I have is that I can make 85-90mph by the first fence line down the road which is real close to 1/4 mile. There's enough air to overcome the wastegate and make 45lbs of boost. The smoke is gone by 1800rpm, but the EGTs are at 1400.

Adding an empty 5000lb tandem dual flat bed trailer slows the quarter mile speed to 75. Those with more experience at that kind of thing could probably get a ballpark horsepower number from these.

There's 24% less air here than at sea level, so you might be able to get 550 there without busting the EGTs. Maybe in Kansas City. I had a motorhome with the Cummins C8. 3, a 10 plate, and an Hx55. I could floor it up any hill below about 6000 ft. Above that I had to control EGTs with my right foot and/or lower gears.

A 62 mm inducer charger would be pushing it. If your not towing I would go with a 66mm type s300. Anything larger than that could have some driveability issues on a 12V.

Look in my readers rigs of an HX-40/BB twin combo, not bad but they were a little off in size. Once I added the SPS 66 the combo took on a hole new meaning.

Buy a SPS 66 or Silver Bullet size turbo and use it as the top turbo on a set of Twins.

Good little thread going here... almost missed it!

Read alot Jim about your SPS 66/BB combo in the past but can you share how they took on a whole new meaning? Looking forward to getting my setup together. Just got my HTT modified Supper 4C about 2 weeks ago and can't wait to slap my SledPuller 66 to it. Just figuring out the small parts right now like oil and stuff like that.

I just think the 40/3B combo is better matched, the 40-B/B was my idea and it worked good but worked much better with the better turbo on top.
