JNutter,

I will give our local Cummins place a call this AM and see what they can do on the price.

Call Diesel Injection of Pittsburgh
http://www.dieselinjection.net

ask for Dan, he handles the parts end of things. They usually take care of me pretty well.

JNutter,

Don't know if this helps or not. Spoke to the local Cummins Dist. parts guy, not the sharpest knife in the drawer, couldn't do anything with 3937128RX. He is the type of parts guy that is stumped if it is not in the manual/computer.

I had to give him my engine serial number so he could find an ECM. He came up with part #3947412 for $799. 00. Said he would have to order it, take a day or two.

If you want to post/email me your engine serial number I can have him give that a try. It seems Cummins wants to sell their latest and greatest version of the ECM. If you have a older truck and the ECM goes bad it may be hard to get an original, you will most likely get an ECM with updates.

JNutter,

Try rocky mountain cummins. They have a special on the internet (I believe it is 850+-).

I own a y2k Dodge, Cummins powered pick up. I am purchasing a uprated
ECM for the truck. You are advertising them on your web site for
$1,065. - installed. I called your parts department, informed the person
I was a TDR member and was told they were $1,386. 26. I then told your
parts person that they were $1065 installed on the web site he said that
price was $1386. 26 and there was nothing he could do about it. I again
asked if there was any way he could work with me on price: again he
replied , no.
You have 2 in stock one of which you could have moved but did not. Oh
well it is your inventory and if you want to sit on it that is your
choice.
I ordered one from a East coast dealer that was more than happy to
discount one one to $750 for a TDR member with out having to beg for a
discount. I guess he figured half a pickle was better than no pickle. He
moved a unit and you did not. I would suggest that if you are going to
advertise an item you should sell it for that. The TDR has about 6,000
active members on the web site. This will be posted for all members to
read and take heed of your business practices.
Even 5 years ago you could get by with this type of operation as 1
disgruntled customer did not have the opportunity to disseminate this
information to very many current or would have been future customers.

Thanks to all who participated on this thread.
With the assistance of one of our east coast brothers, the mission was acomplish with few casualties, ie: Rocky Mountain Cummins and Southwest Cummins.

Thanks again
Jack

JNutter,
I'm glad to see you let them know that they made a mistake. All to often I think we, as consumers, blow off a bit of mistreatment as we have become so used to it nowdays.
