Looking for a fellow TDR member to look at a truck for me in Decatur. It's an '07 2500 6 speed short bed quad cab at a dealership. I have talked to the owner and looked at dozens of pictures but am a little hesitant to buy without a once over from someone who knows Dodge trucks. I would be willing to send a gift card to someone who would take this truck for a ride and listen for any thing strange and look under for leaks and such to set my mind at ease. Any takers please e-mail me at -- email address removed --. Thanks in advance to anyone. Tim Haddad

Wish you had posted this about a week ago. I'm from there and was back visiting for a few days. But, alas, my parents are visiting me this weekend/week. I could call them and have them bring the truck :)

What dealer?

Jeepr, A place called Illinois Auto brokers, Thanks for The reply. I am awful tossed up about Buying a truck sight unseen!!!!!!!!!!! It is a southern truck so I know its not rusted. My current truck I bought from a customer, so I knew its history. The truck I am looking at has 198K on it so it should just be nicely broken in !! My 3 first gen. trucks have 130k 340k and 540k on them and none have had the heads off yet. also the same customer I bought 2 of my trucks from has a 'o5 6speed w/332k on it with the original clutch and the head never off so odds are the '07 I'm looking at is great but I tend to worry!!!!!!!!! Thanks, Tim Haddad

3rd Gens are much more $$$$ then previous versions. . suspension and injection parts will be close to replacement at that Mileage. . Definitely have someone who knows what to look for check it out.

nearly 200K on a 2007? I would definately want to see it before I bought it. Someone has driven it at lot!

And, I'm not familiar with Illinois Auto Broker's, was hoping maybe I could give you some feedback on the "dealer", but they aren't a big one.
