If you leave the flat metal plate that the factory airbox sat on, you need to cushion the filter or support it somehow. The lip on the end of the plate rubs against the BHAF, I found this out the other day, good thing mine hadn't been on there long. I also installed a piece of 4" exhaust pipe 2" long in the filter neck as a stiffener, just for insurance.

[I also installed a piece of 4" exhaust pipe 2" long in the filter neck as a stiffener, just for insurance. ] Good idea, also one may want to buy a 4 1/2" band clamp to tighten the intake onto the neck of the BHAF enough. With the oem 5" band clamp, ya pretty much have to bottom it out to tighten enough and it kinda gets oblong or lopsided or whatever you want to call it. Plus, I was scared of overtightening, popped the hood one day and seen that the BHAF had rattled off of the intake. It was sitting in the fender well area. Luckily I pop the hood at least once a day. There is another alternative, but you have to be a cheapskate that isn't going to enter a "Best of Show" contest.

I just removed the factory airbox and kept the box lid for support. I used some heavy nylon cord to pull the filter into the lid, to seat the gasket.

I had some 6" aluminum roof flashing, which I cut and shaped to drain water away from the filter. I used metal duct tape to hold it to the fender edge.

The airbox lid keeps the filter from touching any other surface. I ran this all winter with no moisture or critter damage. It's just a regular filter, but it got the box away from it.

Tug,

Your washer solvent is a bit low..... get that filled.

Also, I can tell by the picture, you need to advance your pump timing a bit. Bump that up a hair.

Your #4 injection nozzle is partially plugged.

#3 and #5 are popping off a bit low.

Right front tire is about 4lbs lower than the left.

Happy to help.

Scott

ps, Next to last valve cover is beginning to seep a bit.

Phil,

Now that you've tied your air filter to your truck, how in the heck do you keep your shoes from falling off???
