Big Honkin Air Filter Micron Ratings.

Anybody know how much dirt they will stop. Read through 100 + posts and did not get an answer, well maybe I just missed it. I think I will get one, just kinda currious.

Got a Donaldson catalog to research this very thing....

as apparently the original design was Donaldson. According to their catalog it's designed for use in light to medium dust conditions. They say that it uses their standard filter media-which AFAIK comes standard in most highway tractors from the factory as Donaldson supplies most of the air cleaner housings. This is what I'd hoped to hear-but I haven't ordered one just yet. There's some interesting housing assemblies in the same catalog including a 2 stage model that flows more than the Big Honking Filter... . but I don't know how they're gonna fit for sure-I have to do some more measuring before I bite the bullet.....



But I'm not scared anymore of at least the genuine Donaldson version of this filter-if I can't figure out an enclosed one to fit in there I'll be ordering one for my truck too!

Well I will hang tough for awhile. Thanks for the info though. Kinda like it to stop smaller chunks of dirt.....
