So, we will see an IMMEDIATE overnight significant reduction in pump prices, just like the INCREASES the day BEFORE Katrina hit New Orleans, Right?

Gas prices in Indianapolis fell about 20 cents in the last 2 days while diesel has gone up at least 30 to 40 cents since Sunday. today I saw gas for $2. 729 and diesel at the same station for $3. 259. I wish, but I don't see it going down that much. Jason

yeah thats aweful funny, flying J just went up about 7cents/gal for diesel in the last couple days. and gasoline has stayed the same here in utah WTF, some stations have even bumpped diesel . 15 or more in the last few days. the funny thing is all our supply comes from local wells and local refineries. I dont' care what anyone is saying someone is making a killing of making diesel!!! why are they not switching production over to diesel since they are making so much money on it, thats a good question to all the freemarket oil people here??? I just wish they would charge more for gas and give some savings back to the diesel people, or maybe they are worried about a consumer press backlash?? seems noone complains when diesel goes up. but its really what hurts people the most.

It never ceases to amaze me how "analysts" and "industry insiders" have to always put a negative spin on any news about the energy industry ... all in the name of jacking up the futures contracts of which they both have a huge interest in. I'm sure they get a % of revenue when prices go up on their "negative" stories they give to the media.

So demand is down but inventories are above last years level, but there is always "another crisis" just over the horizon ... what a bunch of crapolla.



Also I like the quote about natural gas. I did work for a NG company here in Manchester NH some years ago, and remember them (the gas traders in the company) talking about huge underground caves in Penn. and the Appilachain mtns. where NG is stored and capped as a "rainy day reserve".

But their story is "oh there is shortages of NG oh what will we ever do?" ... I guess they'll just keep raking it in.

Man ... we need some nuclear enengy fast.

Not to change the subject. CMNS PWR I will be in your 'neck of the woods at the end of the month. I am going to Christiansberg, VA That is where my wife grew up. She said that is some 20 mins. away. -Jason

Within an area of 7 or 8 miles in my neighborhood, I saw #2 prices ranging from $3. 509 last night to $2. 999 this morning on the way to work. This even makes me dizzy!

Up in the northern areas the price of diesel is starting to go up because they are starting to do the #1 #2 mix. I know Hess starts this October 1st, I really wish they'd wait until about December.

Neither. As a consumer, $0. 299 would make me smile, but I'd settle for $1. 499 as a reasonable compromise.

I sorta doubt that pump price variations affect what the station owner makes on the per gallon profit - I think they get the same amount per gallon regardless of whether the price is 50 cents, or $5... Of course, the cussing customers at the $5 price, along with reduced sales volume is an added bonus the station operators could probably do without...

so you figure there must be at least 5 to 7% of our refineing compacity that is off line nationwide, how many gas stations that you know of have run out of gas??

I just filled up yesterday at a Flying J truck stop. Diesel Fuel was 311. 9/Gallon. Two days before, and it was 301. 9/Gallon. I purchased 30. 076 Gallons, and with my WHOPPING . 01/Gallon discount, it cast me $93. 51
