May Madness Truckavan leaving from Fallbrook to Lost Wages....

I changed the topic to include the area, a lot of local guys may not know where the track is.

--------------------------------------------
Spoke with the management at Maryland International Raceway regarding the Cummins sponsored Big Rig Nationals on Saturday, April 21st.

They normally provide perks for groups of 25 or more. This includes $4. 00 off admission, a group parking area, a group area inside the event and a mention on the public address system.

The guy I spoke said he would do it for us as a smaller group if necessary seeing how we are Cummins fanatics. Let me know if you are interested. I need to put together a list of folks who are interested and he will email discount tickets. One ticket will cover the occupants of one vehicle.

Here is the URL for the event:

Wiredawg,

Yeah, I think that is what the plan is going to be. Once we/MIR determine if we are a group then we will have to come up with a plan. The guy I spoke with at MIR said most groups meet up somewhere outside the facility then drive in together to make parking easier. I am not real familiar with that area, he said he could suggest some spots when I speak with him again Thursday PM.

Dave D

I spent alot of time down there on TDY and am very familiar with the area. It would probably be easiest to meet in Waldorf at maybe the Dennys(or other place of choice) on 301 and then convoy to the track. The track is real easy to get to.

Hey Dave, Anyone going to race or are we going to watch, I've been up to the local track in Cecil County an its alot of fun. What time do you plan on getting to the track to meet.

Mike

Is this going to be a tailgate event? Coolers and grills?

[This message has been edited by Vaman (edited 04-18-2001). ]

It can be, the guy I spoke with at MIR said they don't mind grilling or drinking as long as you don't try to sell food or drinks within their facility. If you plan on drinking alcohol I would bring some plastic cups or bottle/can wraps to hold the drinks.

I plan on bringing some beer and soda and some sandwiches, chips etc. If there is enough interest I can load my gas grill in the back of the truck.

Right now the interest is a little on the light side. I am going to call MIR tomorrow afternoon and provide them with a list of folks that are interested. Should have a better idea about parking and arrangements inside the track at that time.

Dave D

Dave, didn't know if said i'll be there, but if you would please put me on your list thanks. E-mailed Cliff from around Lancaster we're going to try and meet somewhere around 695&83 if anyone else is interested contact one of us. See you there.

Mike

Spoke with MIR yesterday afternoon, the event coordinator - Royce,
wasn't available, he was out at the track setting up for the event. MIR
was supposed to have emailed us discount coupons for the event, I
haven't seen one yet. I will try to call him back this AM and see what
is going on.

When I spoke with him last week he said most groups meet up somewhere
close to the track and arrive together to make parking easier. Anyone
know of a good place to meet up?

I'll keep you updated if I here from MIR.

Dave Dee

Mike H and I will be at Dennys at about 10:30 or so 11:00 at the latest Two trucks are faster then one #ad

I'll try to be at Denny's by 11:00...

That sounds good to me, I haven't heard from anyone else with a plan yet. It may be a little out of the way for the trucks coming from the south, they will have to drive past the track to get to the Dennys. There can't be more than one Dennys in Waldorf on 301. I will be there around 10:00. I'll set my CB to 13 once I get close to Waldorf.

I'll send an email to everyone that was interested.

Dave D

Enjoyed meeting all you guys! For you guys that raced, let the rest of us know how it turned out. The wife was giving me crap on the way home for not racing. #ad
