:D :D Ok! I broke down and bought one of those nice big filters from Cummins AH19037. It is installed and so far I am pleased. I ran a test between here and Newberg, Oregon on a hill. EGT's are down about 150 to 200 and the engine seems to breath a whole lot easier. Jake Brake has a much deeper sound to it now also. Overall very nice. Will figure the mileage this next week when I go to Idaho and back. :D :D

Now for the question. Has anybody built a box for this thing yet?? I used a piece of heater duct to build a heat shield from the turbo. :D :D

Chad,

You haven't been reading too close if you have missed how big this filter is.

This is a pic of the Napa 2790 (cross of the Fleetguard 19037) that I took from a members page

190 was the answer to the part # AH19037. I got deslixic, Spelling???

Mine looks like the picture above. I will try to post a pic this week if I can get a camera. I have a heat shield built up between it and the turbo. There is a performance gain by the old seat of the pants, but I will know more later this week when I go over the hill to Idaho. I'm looking to build a box with a standard setup already offered by Cummins for the big rig. That will be next months project along with a cheap digital camera so I can post some pics. This thing really rumbles with the Jake brake now. :D :D My mileage appears to be up a little, not much but it looks like 1/2 mpg if that. I will nail it precise by next Tuesday for sure.

AH19037

i know it's back somewhere in another thread, but i can't find it. how does it attach to the air hose? btw, cummins south sells the filter for $35 before taxes and power masters discount. didn't have one in stock, however, last week.

The 4" hose to the turbo slips right over it & you just tighten down the band.

The Cummins dealer here never sold one & didn't have it in the system. He said he'd have it all entered in an hour. Took about a week to get.

Oh, Cummins really made me  , they said they'd call. The didn't ... don't they realize how important this is? :D
