I need some more info on the eaton fuller roadranger swap I want to do. Anyone know what size input shaft is on a typical 9 or 10 speed? How big can we go on our 5. 9? Anyone know if a big roadranger was put behind a 5. 9? I'd really like to have a non-synchronized transmission for the sweet no clutch shifting. Yeah I know it can be done with our getrags, but it doesnt feel right. From the archives I know I'm looking for a RTO -overdrive big hole transmission. Wouldnt do any good with 10th gear direct. How bout other mods, besides driveline, divorced case should I think or know about? TIA, Bill

Unless you intend to do some SERIOUS hauling with your pickup, I'd think a 7 speed would suffice; it has something in the neighborhood of a . 75:1 OD, with about a 10:1 1st gear. That would eliminate the need for an air compressor/ tank, lines, running the risk of some yeah-hoo trashing it, etc, etc.

I think the input shafts are a 1-3/8" 10 spline; though I could be wrong- happens often enough. :D

The in put shafts are usually 1and3/4 or 2 in. they do make a rto 610 and probly are some that have down to 1 1/4 shaft. Good luck finding one. You could change the shaft to the size we need might be $150 for the shaft. The big rto 910's are easer to find than the small 610's. I bet the big ones ore cheeper also.
