Well, my hesitation problem has become very bad. Cant do over 45mph with the engine cutting out every few seconds. Fuel pressuse seems to increase during the cutting out. Boost and egts react as if I am letting off the throttle. I have disconnected the EZ box and the Banks box which made no differance to the problem. I dont seem to have the problem a low speed and very light throttle on lvl ground. Once I speed up and egts climb a bit then I see it.



I will be taking the truck into Dodge (which I really hate to do) on Monday.



Any thoughts? I would like to have a few ideas before they get ahold of it.

Any codes? How did the problem initially start and what have you tried so far in addition to removing the boxes? I had a similar problem once and it was my K&N filter getting sucked up against the inside of my Scotty Air housing. Once I pulled it back a little, it fixed it.

I would bet that you are having a similar problem that I just had. I had a hesitation problem and my truck also would not start when hot. I finally had to take my truck to the local cummins dealer (which I hated to do also) and they had to reflash the computer for $150. But I guess thats cheaper than most other parts that I thought it might be.

try this, ... . put diallectic grease (electrical grease) on every connection, (map, cam, crank angle, ECM, PCM, IAT,Throttle position sensor and the vp 44 sencor). Bad connection could show part is fouled and this is alot cheaper and easier to do. Great first step and a horrible way to learn this is the problem after several hundred dollars worth of parts earlier.
 
I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a pack rat had built a nest in the filter box when we were camped for a week without moving the truck. Also if you have an exhaust brake, make sure it is opening and closing properly.

The fuel pressure guage comes off the injection pump after the fuel filter. There were no codes I could pull. I changed the fuel filter just cuz so we will see what that does. Gonna check all the connections tomorrow if nothing has changed Im off to the stealer... I mean dealer... ... . :)
