Bigger tires on a dually?

I have the stock 235/85R16's on my W350 and am wondering if I can go to a 255/85R16 on the stock wheels without having to run spacers. The 255's would be 20mm wider and the gap between the rear duals would be either narrow or non-existant. I just want to get a little more height and width without spending the big $$$ for 19. 5's. Anyone running bigger tires without spacers?

Actually 215-85-16's are the stock size. I know a guy running 245-70-26's on the stock wheels, but they are too close for my comfort. My aftermarket wheels (aluminum outer, 2nd gen style steel inner) seem to have alot of room between my 235's. 255's might fit with this setup.

Dodgenstien I would love to see a pic of your truck. I think that enforcer bumber is the coolest thing going and I have been trying to find one. Also do you have any of the classic dually vibration with your prime wheels and second gen inners?

I just put on 255/85 r 16 bfg muds, stock rims are a bit narrower then recommended cause a slightly different tire bulge. I had to put two 1/4 in spacers in, i cut them to work with the rim dimples against the rims and flats against each other. Other then that work and look good, not a full nut of threads but close.



Spacing was pretty much none, about 1/4 till the bottom of the tire weight bulge touched with out spacers.



This is my last step before 19. 5s (hopefully)



I can help if you need spacers made, or could send pics of spacing if needed?

Sorry to disappoint you, but I don't have any good pictures of my truck. I have owned the truck since new, Enforcer bumper since 95 and the truck has spent most of it's life on the farm (getting kind of sad looking). The last two years have been especially rough on it. It runs better all the time , but needs a thorough going over by a body shop.

HELLO, i worked at a hubcap&wheel store for the last 3 years and picked up a set of ford coined daully wheels, they look just like the dodge ones but have 1/2 inch more offset. my cat can walk between the wheels now, hollander #1176 radial coined daul, ask woody at wheels express in ok. for them, mopar2ya

I list 84 older f*** 2 wd has two listed coined rims, 4wd is flat mount. one rim is specifically made for the 235/85r16 which i assume is the rims we are looking for. But only a . 35 of an inch little under 3/8" offset difference, which would be enough if you ran 4 in the back, but buying 6 or 7 rims would be alot more expensive then 4 spacers and maken them work. I did all this research before i bought my tires. dont have a hollander info but will look it up, but i believe we are talkin the same rims.



01 an newer dodge rims same deal but are flat mount which you would need to change nuts, but should be able to run them.
