Airflow, and fuel is the key. Too much of one or the other, and you have an un-efficient motor.
Fuel and air, make power. You CAN just through a ton of fuel at your truck, and it will make a ton of power. Just depends on how much money you are comfortable spending. I did the cam and head myself, and it was worth it (OE head cracked anyway, so it was a cheap upgrade).
Too much turbo, or too much injector, can make your truck a great Power Maker, but a horrible daily driver.
