Bike trail riding

I noticed a couple Sheetz locations while in Missouri and Illinois.
Illinois has just raised the gas tax and cigarette prices a lot so the natives were jumping across the river to get Missouri pricing....

We have 4 Sheetz locations within a 10 mile radius here.

Get the Sheetz app on your phone. Can order food, etc. and schedule exactly when you want to pick it up. Works really well.

To get to your trailhead, do you start right at the house, or do you throw the bikes in the truck and drive there?

We haul them over. It's about 10 min from the house.

Been away on vacation for a few weeks. Can't wait to get a ride in on Friday hopefully.

Just jumped on the scale. Down to 224#, even after all the eating out on vacation. That's 26# since January.

Since getting the new bike, I've been neglecting the fat bike. So today was a fat day. Still fun to switch it up.

I just had my 6 month checkup including blood work. With that little bit of weight loss, my cholesterol (183) blood sugar (105), and A1C (5.4), are all now within range. My triglycerides are still up a little (249), but dropped 220 points from January (469)

Not done with this process yet, but this was a really encouraging visit. Thanks guys for allowing me to talk about this a little with you recently.

I'd have to look for sure, but I think 6.1 was my highest. It was solidly in the pre-diabetes range 6 months ago.

Your fasting glucose is right on the cusp too. I’ve come to realize they’re sliding the scale on that. Not long ago the limit was 100. Recently it was 110. So it’s like the speed limit is 65, and you’re doing 64, are you really speeding? No, but you’re right there.

I was 118 fasting glucose in January.

Yes. I asked him to give me 6-months and see what I could do.

Wayne, you had asked a while back about transporting the bikes to the trail head. I purchased this cheap Allen receiver hitch bike rack on amazon and it works pretty well for the price.
