Saturday, I met Bill K. down in Yuba City at Kustom Truck for a seminar and install of Bills TC/VB in my truck, and while there Bill helped out some of the other TDR guys with ? they had. Herb from Kustom Truck, along with Bill were very free with info about how to install and the interrelationship between engine and trans. A good day... Way quality work at Kustom Truck, Herb and the gang didn't mind you putting your head in the work area and watching. . Good people. . One of the shop rats [Dennis], had a high horsepower, tirefrying, turbowhineing, hardshifting Ram, that he let anybody drive... . Back away from the exhaust pipe and nobody will get hurt... http://www.zing.com/mypictures/inbox/view.html?id=4275915124&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.zing.com%2Fpicture%2Fp36c19c731634278222a546d465998798%2Ffedd4974.jpg&caption=Trans%20Install Treeman was there to check install for his possible bombing... ...

Yeah... Bill is the greatest. Him and his techs did the setup on my truck... and boy was I happy that I drove there to meet them guys. It was well worth it.

Well how did it run man!ihope you got out of there at a decent hr. I learned a lot & greatly improved my underststanding of how the transmission works & also the difference between Bills setup & the competitors i,ll definitely be getting that combo as soon as money allows it. A great bunch of guys over at Kustom Works also great to meet the Man himself & get some questions answered. Agood day well worth the drive. Ian

12 valve Bills TC & VB #6 plate VS 24 valve ez box and 275's stock TC & VB. 12 valve pulls away untill 100mph when govenor kicks in the 24 valver goes on by lol. Looks like the 12 valver get's a govenor spring kit as soon as trans is straightened out. Thanks for getting us out of Yuba City Treeman we had a lot of fun at least on the drive home.

Glad it was a good time for all--I wanted to come up, but by the time I'd of gotten there I would've had to turn around and come home--I was bummed--so I continued the bomb work-I mean bomb play on the ol' truck---hopefully one of these days I can meet some of you TDR & DTT boys and we can drive each other's trucks and see if there's anything that we may want to adjust--I installed the VB myself and had a shop do the t/c--everything seems to work ok, but I still need to check on the rpm shifting points to see if I'm set-up right---and info on that you guys can shed some light on I'd sure like it----chris

BPINE and Treeman... ... HEY. . you guys didn't tell me you were going to take the FAST way home, If I'd known that, I'd of put my BDII's in while they were working on the trans and tried to catch ya... . In talking to Bill, he thinks I might have to do a bigger turbo in, to keep the EGT's from going thru the roof... . But thats another post. . HEY AGAIN, how come you guys aren't at work?. . hehehe

Me thinks i need a DTT tc & vb. I just couldnt close that truck lentgh you had on me . It was sure fun trying though. Ijust assumed you guys backed off ,so i did also ,i felt like i had a little more to spare ,i wander how much though. Your mates rig sure sounded nice when you took off , what exhaust system does he have on it. Hope he gets the transmission probs sorted without too much expense
Colin
Whats with having to have a bigger turbo now, you,ll definitely have to get some gauges installed. You never did say how she ran after the install,I,m curious as hell! Thanks for the e-mail regarding the sticker. Ian

Treeman that poor fellow doesn't even have an exhaust, straight through and likes it. I too hope we get the trany grimlins worked out so far no luck.

BPINE, were you passed by a sickly, badly smoking, pathetic Frank Simkowski bus on your way home from Yuba City this time? #ad

John believe it or not no School busses in sight they all new Bill was in town and they were hiding I think. We had a good laugh with that story at Kustom Truck.

Treeman et al,
The trans mods make it a whole different truck... sitting at a stop light, you ahve to hold your foot on the brake, or it'll pull you forward pretty quick,... as soon as the light turns, the throttle response is NOW, and it actually shifts now instead of reving up and going nowhere... the shift to second is firm and the rpm drops like it should... The shift to third is pretty hard [hence the topic title], but lunges forward, YES!, the shift to fourth, is again nice and firm, the drop to OD is only about 200 rpm, not the 700/800, I was experencing before... Now with a trans that really works, I can see how more power would be nice... heheheheheheh!
TREEMAN
I used to use the same excuse " I let off the throttle, thats why you passed me... "

Its been 3 days now, and my check engine light finally came on, like bill said it would... . I e-mailed the shop this morning to see how they are doing on that, but what with Bills breakdown... I, sure they are trying to get him on the road.....
Colin
