Bill asked me to put this up yesterday and i
didnt get it done, actually my transmission man had picked up an old tc core that someone had put into the box upside down. Amazingly enough it didnt leak through all the test driving ect for a couple of days. It had dripped in such a way through the hole drilled for the 5th wheel hitch directly onto the seal area of the rear end , that combinded with road grime made it look like the seal was leaking.

Now as much as i laughed when i heard about this, i was really glad he didnt break my truck. Again though, on the serious side, i cant thank those of you who called and offered to help. I cant tell you how i value the responses to help and support this membership provides had this been a more serious situation i know you guys would have helped him out.

Thanks again, k, you can laugh now, i did that yesterday.

It is being "worked" on. But its complicated issue, as to how to handle the information. I can't give you timeframe or ETA for it because I am not working on it, but the idea is not dead. <font size=-2>

This just lead me to an idea. How about we start some kind of email group that would send messages to our emails and all of our pagers when someone is in trouble? We could make a page or some kind of form to fill out when someone calls. The only thing is figuring out who would respond to an 800 number or telephone number and send the message from the person who is in trouble. Maybe a pager company or answering service would do it if we all pitched in like 5 bucks a month or something. Tell me what you guys think.

how about an 800 emerg #? you could at least get a good idea of of who you could trust for a tow or tech advice before you pay the big bucks. for someone like me that travels alot it would be better than triple a , and most of the time, dc. anyone remember the intercooler hose problemns?

A homebound member (operator), set up with an 800 number would do the trick. 800 numbers are less than $10 a month, plus air time.

The operator would need the list of available members and forward the SOS information to the listed members in a specific area.

Or, the operator could do what Shanti did and post for help on the forums. Maybe we would need an "Road Emergency" Forum that we could check upon logging on to the Roundtable.
