My soon to be brother-in-law has did me a favor and built me a triple plate billet torque converter for a super price? My question is has anyone put a beefy torque converter on a stock truck and transmission? Do I need to change any computers settings?

you may want to complement the converter with a valvebody but don't need to if money is an issue. You are replacing the weak link

What is the flex plate? Can I do the input shaft when I do the transmission? Wheres a good place to get a valve body?

The flex plate connects the T/C to the crank. With the added weight of the big convertor I consider it to be the only safe way to go. The input shaft will require some tear down but if you skip it you will regret it later .

I use DTT for all my trans needs and those of my friends and customers

FOR SURE:) put a tighter converter and a lockup switch in and snap went the shaft on a 12 valve:-laf

Well I am thinken about waiting on the flex plate untill I get an upgraded transmission, valve body, and input shaft.
