Thanks, TDR Staff

Bought myself a new Alpenlite truck camper

Have you passed a Ford lately?

I haven't even been back from Las Vegas a week and have to make a trip to Billings , MT. What is the snow like in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana. I will be traveling up I-25 out of Denver all the way to Billings.

Most states, including Montana, have websites that give you current road reports. For Montana the website is: http://www.mdt.state.mt.us/travinfo/

Also, you can dial 511 in Montana and get current road reports. I have found the reports generally to be quite accurate here in Montana.

I hear Casper got 17" of snow and the radar looks like they may be getting more now. I haven't heard of any road closures but I'd be prepared for cold temps (17*F here now) and slick roads. The snow is mostly all melted off the roads here but we only got 2 or 3 inches that stuck. Go prepared for the worst and hope for the best.

Kim, TPCDrafting.....Thanks...

Yes. I am pulling a trailer through. 40' long with about 6,000lbs on it. I don't mind cold, in fact, I welcome it. After living in Alaska I would much prefer the cold. And this trip I will not have my EZ with me, just my DD1's. Had to send the EZ back to EDGE. It was on its way out I believe. So we will see if how it goes. My truck 'feels' naked without the EZ.

Jason

No EZ?

The EZ was made for the highway from Cheyenne to Billings.

Boy, are you going to miss it, all rolling hills that need power.

I saw a Toy Hauler about a mile ahead of me the other just north of Buffalo WY. I was running 80 mph without gaining on him. I stepped it up to 90 so I could catch him and see what he was towing with. Don't you know it was a 6 liter ford, and the hills weren't slowing him down a bit.

You all have a good trip Jason.

WyoJim..........

I was afraid of that... ..... Well luckily I will only have 14K behind the truck this time. Just hope the DD1's will get me through it.

Was 3* this morning and more snow on the way, the roads are mostly bare but black ice is there so be careful, its my understanding that as you go north the conditions get better, you will be OK just watch for water spray from your tires and when it quits you have ice, this is the way I have been driving winter Wyoming roads all my life and it is very effective.

Cheers, Kevin
