This may be old news... ... ... but us 2WD guys have a premium option. After wasting money on KYB (failed) and the latest Monroe (horrible) Bilstein has front and rear shocks available for the 3500 (2500 too?). The part numbers are BE5-C603HO (front) and BE5-C605HO (rear). I spoke with Bilstein last Thursday and they indicated they were new with in the last several weeks. I found them at http://www.shockwarehouse.com for $64. 95 each, shipped with no tax if you don't live in Florida. :)

So I called Bilstein, these shocks are for 2003-2005.

They are "in development" for the 06 1500 shocks, but they don't even have a date for when the 06 3500 shocks will even be "in development".

I sure whish someone could reply and say "this things fit and work great on my 06 3500 SRW 2wd truck"

I called the dealer for prices on factory parts (not that I would spend a dime on an exact replacment when the orignal was bad with 7000 miles on it) they said "without a VIN I can't even help you".

I'll let you know when I get mine.

I really need the back the worse, the factory ones squeek, but only when I got the 5er hooked up. But there is nothing like the feeling of new Bilsteins on all 4 corners!

I keep getting excuses from Bilstein, still ain't got them yet. Rears in stock, but not fronts. Already paid for them as well.

I hope they're better than their blue/yellow shocks. I've killed 2 on the front of my '96 and I'm planning to go to KYB next time. Bilstein doesn't really honor their lifetime warranty (shock has to be completely dead/leaking).

I see you have a 2500? The 3500 single rear wheel has a softer main spring in the back I can't find anybody that has installed them on a 3500 SRW. I just want to make sure they will be OK. Did bilstein build them with less dampining because of the heavy spring on the 2500, which might make them as weak as stock dampinging on the lighter spring of the 3500?

I Give Up

Got another update yesterday, now I'm told at least 4 more weeks. I cancelled my order. Bilstein customer service is pathetic. They shoulda told us when they were actually out instead of stringing us along with excuses. "Give us a week" several weeks in a row and now this "at least 4 weeks". Enough.

I can't find any aftermart front shock available for my 04. 5 2500 quad 2wd. I bought a set of rancho 5000 and they are junk, I think the weight of the diesel is to much for the shock. Anyone know of anything available that works, especially since Bilsteins aren't available.

I've got 185,000 on a set of Bilsteins on my 96 3500 DRW Extended cab without any problems. The OE's died in 10 and the Monroes wer on for only 2 thousand.

Us 2WD guys always take a back seat to the 4X4 crowd.

Then make it a 3500 with a manual trans and you've be lucky to find anything for the truck.

This hasn't changed in ten years -

I got exactly the same info from Bilstein and posted the same info as you did several months ago. Since then I have been told by a major vendor that markets their products that Bilstein is so large and so confused that sales doesn't have a clue what marketing or development is doing. I've had an outstanding order for 4 -6 months and still no box of shocks on my front step.

shockwarehouse.com has many different ones listed for bilstein. Don't know status of availability, I will be ordering in a few weeks.

I've been looking at the Rancho's for the 06 2WD, and seen the same problem. If you call Rancho up, they say they don't have anything that fits the 06. However, I've talked to two shock guys about it, and they both seem quite confident that the 05 parts will work just fine. I'm going to give it a try next week. I've got an appointment for a Monday install.

shockwarehouse don't have them in stock (I think its the rear ones not in stock?)

Bilstein says the 3500 SRW is different, I don't believe it.

Only thing I can think of is the 2500 has a stiffer rear spring then the 3500 (because the 3500 has helper springs that kick in once loaded where the 2500 don't). Maybe a heaver spring requires a shock with a different amount of rebound or compression then a lighter spring?
