I called Bilstein today to check on the shock situation for our trucks. The first fellow I spoke with gave me these part #'s and then he transferred me to tech support for confirmation.

Front: BE5-6681-H5

Rear: BE5-6647-H5

The fellow from tech support stated these are for stock ride height OR "leveled" trucks. These are 5100 series shocks and according to the tech guy they perform very well in our application. I specifically asked twice if they would bottom out on a stock ride height truck and he stated there would be no problem.

Why is it that some people are getting part recommendations for a 2004 while others are being told the shocks are still in development and are not available yet?

DBurkhard- When I called Bilstein, I got the same part numbers as stated in this thread. I recently called Camping World, in Mesa, AZ. , and the "performance products" guy called Bilstein and was told to wait til early '05, that they were coming out with a new shock. He said that Bilstein said that the ones out now are a little on the weak side. Don't know how true all of this is but, that's what I've been told. A lot of the "online stores" don't have part numbers for the 3rd Gens, yet. Hope this helps! Joe.

I talked to Bilstein, yesterday, and was told that the shocks that are available "today" are actually designed and built for "lifted, 1/2 ton (1500) trucks". If you can wait til early next year, they will have shocks specifically designed for our trucks (2500, 3500, 4X4) Sorry, but I didn't think to ask about shocks for the 2wd's. Joe.
