Last week I did the fronts with Bilstein. I search & search and couldn't find any information to tighten the lock nut down on to the rubber buffer. Finally found Bilstein mounting instructions on eshocks.com. For me it was much easier to take the metal sleeve out of the rubber buffer, silicone the rubber buffer, push it thru the shock tower and then re-install the metal sleeve. Rubber buffer has a groove in the middle. Buffer is 1/2 above & 1/2 below shock tower. Tighten the buffer to the point where the metal plate (lock nut on top of metal plate) makes contact with the sleeve. Rubber buffer looks pretty squished but no bumps or rattles from shocks (works good, last long time, don't mess with it). I'm outa here... ... ..... (door slams)
