I called Bilstein today about shock availability for my 2004. 5 3500 4wd Dually. They informed me that shocks are now available for my truck. #BE5-C604-HO for the fronts and #BE5-C614-HO for the rears. I talked with a tech guy about a special application for the diesel. He informed me that there is a stiffer shock in development for the fronts but if I was happy with the stock ride comfort go with the #BE5-C604-HO. Has anybody put these on their trucks yet, and how do they like them? Would also like to know what they paid for them and where they purchased them.

Thanks very much.

I personally am looking for something stiffer than stock. I’ve got a Ranchhand on the front of my truck, and I can get the suspension to compress all the way to the rubber stoppers over a speed bump.

Well, I have to apologize. After contacting two Bilstein dealers about the shocks that I need and both saying that they are not available, I phoned Bilstein again this morning. Apparently I have the correct part #’s but Bilstein has not started production of these shocks yet. Tech sales, thinks they might be shipped to dealers by mid February. The phone numbers for Bilstein are 1-858-386-5900 (west coast) and 1-704-663-7563 (east coast). Wish they would have told me all this in the beginning.

WTHeck?

I spoke with Bilstein this morning. The application for my '04 QC 2500 4x4 is:

Front: BE5-C604-H0 (thoser are zeroes)

Rear: BE5-C614-H0

That's the good news.

The bad news? They estimate that they won't be available for another 4 months...

Guess I'm going Edelbrock!

I Talked to Bilstein last week, and they gave me the same part numbers, but said that theywould not have the shocks available until May...

Ordered mine from ORW last week and got them for $66 a piece. They have a TDR discount.

Did you order the new ones specific to the diesel trucks, or the ones that have been available for non diesel?

They cannot be the new ones - according to the lady I spoke with at Bilstein this morning.

So - all this said, if I'm looking for a smoother ride, would those who have the Bilstein (non-diesel), would you recommend them? Trying to decide between those and the Edelbrocks...

No they are not the new ones. But they are better than nothing. Going the cheep route right now untill I win the lottery and buy kore.

I thought you could get them through Superlift in 4" and 6" lift heights. Or was I missing the point that they were only for the gassers when they just say for the 2500's?

Had the gasser shocks (5100 series) on for a week. I drive on paved country roads with lots of seams, bumps and heaves. No improvement over stock in my opinion. Save your $$ for now would be my opinion.

I just went with the TC 4. 5" EZ Ride Suspension and upgraded to 5100's

BE5-6646-H5 FRT

BE5-6647-H5 REAR

I went with the recommend of the suspension shop.

The ride and handling are much improved. On and off road. I am extemely satisfied. Oo.

Hauled a couple of the horses down the road last night (4H LQ trailer) - no significant improvement noticed over stock shocks.

If anything it's ever-so-slightly smoother - not significant and certainly not worth the $$ in my opinion for the side-by-side comparison. They look cool, though...
