Anyone have info on the backorder of the 5100 series shocks for 2" lift in the rear, BE5-6647-H5? I tried to order them from Offroad Warehouse, and they told me they have been on backorder for about 3 months now.

I called Bilstein, but the guy that deals with off road shocks, Shawn, was on leave and no one could help me. Pretty lame IMO!

Well for what it's worth I have the blue/yellow OEM series shocks, first set only lasted 20k and when I tried to get warranty replacement I was denied. The shock on the front right was toast. Tire would bounce a lot hitting bumps. I don't think much of Bilstein!

That's interesting. I bought these shocks based on the recomendation of the majority of people on here.

Did they give you a reason for denying your claim?

I'm going to run the stock length shocks for in the rear for the time being and hopefully the Bilsteins will show up sometime.

I'm working with them on it now, I was told they are tested and a dyno report produced, so I asked for a copy.

My problem was on the right front side. The shock was not leaking and was told if it's not leaking then it can't be bad, except in very rare cases. Mine was not leaking but its damping performance was very poor.

I had one like that too, Vaughn. I noticed it upon installation... I checked it's operation through the entire stroke. As I needed a replacement shock immediately, I ordered another new one while ORW sent it to Bilstein for warranty determination. I spent the next six months following up on said determination and a refund.

And of course, it was the hardest location t replace... the left front.

Nate, check some other vendors, I got mine thru AJUSA, great price and free shipping. ORW had them on backorder this last fall as well so I went to AJUSA and they beat the prices of others, had them in 5 days.

Goto to the bilsteiin website and clik on the buy bilstein link and it will bring up a list of those who carry the bilsteins.

Goodluck

The truck rides good. Empty it has a bit of "shudder" to it. Throw about 500lbs in the back and it rides smooth as a Caddy.

Try eshock.com. I purchased mine from there, they had the 5100s in stock, and I had them in just a few days. The price was around $5 more a shock than the group buy, but no wait. Good Luck!
