I have the Bilstein shocks and would like to lift (level) the front end. Does anybody know if Bilstein makes an extended shock for this type of application?

Also if anybody has used the DT track bar, or other BOMB'ed front end parts, let me know what works with what.

Yes they do and you can get the pretty Zinc coated ones. I have them with the Sky Jacker D25 springs which give the 2" lift, I liked them better than the spacers. You will also need to have some way of recentering your front axle, like a DT track bar. Also you will need an alignment.

That is the set-up I have just tell the salesperson you plan to lift the truck. The 5100 series shock is a great impovement over stock, want something alittle better and different, try the 5150 series. Good luck:cool:

Let me make sure I have this right.

1. Bilstein makes a longer shock for lifted applications.

2. I need a DT track bar.

3. I need some brand of taller spring (that hopefully will have a similar stiffness to stock).

Are there any other parts I will need? How does the DT track bar attach? Do I need the Lukes Link as well?

What is a DSS?

Did you have to change the lower control arms?

Skyjacker also makes a kit with the extended sway bar links. Did you buy the springs only, or the kit?

BLACKRAM,

I use the Stock length Bilstein on the front of my truck. I also have 2" leveling springs. The shocks have never "topped out". I think other members did the same.

I read somewhere at the TDR that the part # on the longer shocks is the same for the 1500 series trucks. I believe you lose the heavy duty configuration (8800 GVW) feature w/ the longer shocks.
