Hi All,

Time to replace shocks all around. Have been searching forum and still trying to keep it simple (ugh). I tried not to add another post on shocks but guess I'm still somewhat undecided.

Although I've got the Trailer/Camper/Plow package, I most frequently run empty, so I'd like to purchase shocks with that in mind, and when I trailer it's just a small (18') boat and when loaded it's usually just cargo in the bed.

Are the Bilsteins a decent choice for above behavior?

Thanks!

I have the 5200 series Bilstiens on my truck and they are just fine when empty. Nothing will make these trucks ride like a Caddy, but these shocks do a good job of controlling body motions. There is no longer any excess suspension movement either.

In short, I like them, and they did take a lot of the little jitters out of the ride. I too run 99% empty.

HTH.

I run empty all the time, and I'm runnin the 5100s. Great shock, kinda stiff though with no load. I don't mind it though. But from what I have heard, they work great when you have a load or when your towing.
