Hello all

Does anyone know if DC or Cummins approves or disapproves the use of bio in our trucks. if so what concentration?

Thank you

Factory new they're shipped with a partial tank of B-5 so it's hard to think there'd be any problem in their trucks running BD. I would imagine that any B-20 mixture would be fine as through all the testing already done they have found virtually no difference between the B-20 blend and premium #2 diesel except for the advantages of better mileage, less smoke, etc, etc with the BD blends. If I could get it (which I can) I would run it (which I do). Long as you ease into it there should be few, if any, problems, new truck or old.

bio approval?

The latest TDR mag(#52) has an article in the Four Whaling column that says that Bosch recommends no higher than B5 and that Cummins has not made a definite statement either for or against.

I was recently in Tx. visiting the daughter and filled up in a Love's truck stop in Anna, Tx. Later I glanced at my receipt and was surprised to see that I had purchased bio-diesel. There were absolutely no signs to this effect either outside or inside the store. After checking their web site it seems that the Anna store is one of only two outlets in Tx for BioWillie. And checking Willie's web site revealed that BioWillie is B20!! BTW the price was the exact same as the petro diesel across the highway??

I noticed no differences operation other than a slightly different exhaust odor. This may have been my imagination.
