Bio vs. Big Oil

That's a cool idea. From what I've heard others talking about, the algae would be turned into oil for the use in making biodiesel. Interesting concept.
 
And it can be harvested daily so the volume can be much more than any other planting cycle. You don't put the alge in the tank , its extacked the same as other plant matter in a centrafuge and then prosessed into certifide fuel.
 
Algae blows away the competition (soy & rape) when it comes to quantity of oil per acre of crop. Here's a site that has a lot of alt energy info. Scrool down to "Biodiesel" if you want to read up om algae. The other stuff is good reading too.
