Need a new coffee maker. Did a search, and found this one, the Infuze, made by Black & Decker. Has anybody ever seen/used one of these. It's a pretty unique brewing method. Uses permanment filter, draws the water up (vacuum pressure) and soaks with the grounds, before dropping back down into the caraff. Pricy ($75), so I'd like to find out if it's worth any more than my $20 one?

Classic brushed stainless steel housing with metal accents complements any style kitchen. Uses a charcoal water filter that helps produce great tasting coffee by removing impurities. An indicator light signals when its time to clean your coffeemaker. Simply add the vinegar and water solution and your coffeemaker cycles it through to remove calcium buildup. Custom heat control adjusts the heater plate to one of three settings to control the after brewing temperature of your coffee. The Brew Pause feature lets you pour a cup of coffee before brewing has finished. The 1-4 cup setting allows you to brew only a cup or two without altering the flavor of the brew. Fully programmable with a user-friendly digital clock that offers freshly brewed coffee, day or night. It also has a programmable auto shutoff for worry-free use. 12-cup carafe with ergonomic handle, dripless spout and knuckle guard. Programmable automatic shutoff, 0-4 hours. Brewing complete audible beep. Includes gold tone filter, #4 paper coffee filter starter kit and coffee grounds.

This machine has been nothing but great to me. NEVER leaves the coffee with that "Bitter" taste as I love my coffee strong. This suprises me as most of the internals are plastic. It utilizes an inline filter tat elimenates any hard staning. Theese units listfor100 bucks but you can find tem on the net for 40-60 bucks

I read a report a few years back that linked an oil in brewed coffee to a type of stomach cancer. Using a paper filter absorbed all of this oil. Using a permanent type filter allows the oils to pass into the coffee. Something to think about if you drink a lot of java. Wish I could remember more details. Maybe someone else will chime in.

I've been using a Krups AromaControl for 5 months. It brews into a vacuum flask, so no worry about over heating, and it stays hot for about 4 hours (more, if you preheat the flask).

streetsweeper, please let us know how the coffe tastes, when this arrives. Really want to know how it compares to a drip-brew.

TMTT, what brand/model is that? Looks nice, and sounds like it brews a good cup of java.

I have a friend with a Bunn. It produces an extremely good flavor. I have another friend with a "cheaper", Black & Decker model. It also makes good coffee. I think his model has the water filter. Maybe that's a key.

I purchased the Santos bodum

This is a coffee maker on the same principle as the Black & Decker unit. The coffee is smooth has wonderful taste, and the oil saturates the mouth. Nice unit. You know its good when the wife states its good coffee:D :D :D :D
