No, not the band. Anyone have a pot of them simmering in the kitchen? My Virginian wife insists on them, but I don't mind.

I wish I did. We ate them every New Year’s up until a few yers ago. No one but me likes them in my family and they’re not superstitious at all.

I love black eyed peas. My mom and I were literally just talking about making some 10 minutes ago.

Guess I need to add those to the shopping list.

Laying here in bed with a belly full of them, wishing they would hurry up and digest so I won’t feel miserable anymore! But they sure were tasty. Be even better the second day.

They're better if you have a ham hock from Christmas to help with the slow cooking of them! Mouth watering thinking about them after they've cooked for a day or two! Take what I don't eat and freeze for another cold and snowy day to enjoy! :)

NOPE!
I put them right up there with GRITS and GREENS!

I was once eating in a "SAMBO's" restaurant for breakfast in the late 70's done south with a couple of other engineers and the waitress ask if I wanted GRITS with my breakfast.

I replied No, and she simply said you're a D*** Yankey.

Dad once ordered grits at a restaurant in Georgia. Waitress looked at him and asked, "You mean Georgia caviar?"
