Sturgis slightly milder than it used to be ( which means it still gets pretty damn wild), but to me that means it is at about the point where you can have a blast and let your hair down (some let more than that down) and yet it is held under enough control that you don't have to walk around feeling like your life is in danger just by being there. Still alot of idiots that get plastered and then think they can still ride their bike though. That is one thing I can always count on for job security (unfortunately). Seems like they are more accepting of the "alternative" bikes as well. Used to be you could literally get yourself killed if you showed up with something other than a Harley, but there is alot more variety and alot more interaction going on amongst the different owners as well. This year should be good overall, sounds like they have some good entertainment coming in. Buffalo Chip especially. Nice part is there is alot more going on around the rally too. Rapid has stuff going on that week, there is the Ham and Jam over in Wyoming that folks can make a run to. If you go and all you do is see Sturgis itself you are going to miss alot. Kind of interesting when you have a state with a population like South Dakota's (especially when about 2/3 live East of the Missouri) and then throw that many people into the area for about a week and a half.
