black oil

New 05 just changed the oit for the first time at 5,000 mi drove it 5 miles and pulled the dip stick the oil is black as coal. Is the normal

My understanding from model year 04. 5 up to present year model this is considered normal.

Yup its perfectly normal. Dont worry about it one bit. My oil turns jet black after a few miles as well.

Last time I changed mine, I let it drain all night, put the drain plug back in and changed the filter, filled it up with Delo 400. Started it up and then checked the level and the oil was black. I didn't even move it from the driveway.
