How to wash diesel soaked cloaths?

I was fueling up today next to a older chevy diesel (junk). And the guy was putting chimney sweep in his tank. I asked what in the world are you doing? And his answer was that it makes awesome smoke and cackles when you get after it. I left it at that. I figured that this guy is nuts already. What is your guys take on this? I guess it is possible but wouldn't that coke the injector tips due to burning to hot? Has anybody tried this? I do not think I will be the Ginnie pig on it.

My take is NO FUGGIN WAY !!!! If you want more smoke, put in larger injectors. I wouldn't use that chimney sweep crap in my woodstoves, less than the Cummins. Do it the tried and true manner, make more smoke with more fuel and clean your chimney with a brush, not chemicals that don't work. Just IMHO mind ya ;) .

Just kinda got me thinkin'

When I was a little younger, I made a smoke generator by filling the windshield washer resevoir with used oil and aiming the washer squirter down into the carb. Rev up the engine and give it a couple of squirts. Made a smoke screen that would do a WWII destroyer proud.

Naturally, this won't work on a Cummins. How about making the same type of deal with an injector just aft of the turbo? Probably clog your cat. Hot enough for some smoke? Not that I would, of course, but in the instance one of those obnoxious rice burners stopped next to me at a light and had that stupid thumpin bass going full tilt... .

Just thinkin.....

It's stuff they sell to city folk. They claim that, if you add it to a hot fire, it will clean your chimney of creosote. Don't believe it and use a brush.

You should have checked his ashtray for a crack pipe. Cause that would be all that would cause me to put that crap in my tank.

DO IT THE OLD FASHIONED WAY------- MAKE MORE HORSEPOWER AND TORQUE

If it was a 6. 2, why do you need to do anything to make them smoke more? They make about as much as you could want by themselves without help. Guttless wonders.

We have a chevy 1 1/4 ton military brush truck (fire truck) with a 6. 2 in it, and I CANNOT get that thing to smoke no matter what, loaded, unloaded whatever...

Well I just got rid of my company truck that was a four door 91 Chevy one ton with a heavy flat bed that would dump with a diesel and dual exhaust and it smoke'd pretty good and it had 160000 miles on it . It held up pretty good and had very little trouble with it but it had no power . We have a newer heavy duty Chevy with a real dump bed on it with a diesel with the turbo on it and it smokes real bad and I mean bad and it is on its second motor and it hasn't got that many miles on it . I think it is a 97 ,98,99 model and it is always giving us trouble . The old 91 had more power .
