For those of you who have had Black and Sports was the black a pain to keep up? Does the Sport chip up on the front end? Never owned black or sport, but I'm considering.

I now have my second Sport package truck in Black. I like them very much and in my opinion you can't beat the looks of an all black car or truck. Yes Black is harder than other colors to keep looking clean, but I think it's worth it.

I use my truck to haul my all black enclosed trailer with my black Buick GN in it :D

As far as trouble with stone chips on the front I have had no problem but I live in the city and my truck don't see any gravel roads at all.

If you are worried about chips there is a plastic tape like stuff they make for cars that goes over the front end. I have see it on a few Mustangs and other cars and unless you run your hand over it you can't tell it's there. Sorry I don't know the name of the stuff or the company but it did look nice.

Good Luck

Have a 98 Black Sport.

It definitely take more work to keep looking good. Is it worth all the effort. IMO nothing looks better that Black when it is cleaned up. If your going Black it only makes since to go with the Sport.

My next truck will be another black Sport.

I do not care what color of a truck I buy as long as it is BLACK..... I have had 3 SLT trucks and 1 Sport, The SPort I bought used and it had some issues as it was beat down dirt roads. Black is the best looking color as long as you are ready for the Maintenance of Black.

Rules to Remember... ... ... Sponges are your enemy, use a soft wash mit... ... . Towels are also your enemy and you should use a Chamois or one of those Absorber deals..... Keep polished often and try to avoid drive thru car washes. I do occassionally use them if It is a nice one with newer equipment, but hand wash is better. You also must use a high quality product when cleaning and polishing. My truck has 67,600 miles, 3 1/2 years old and you can still about shave in it, but I have it professionally detailed twice a year. Balck is alot of work, but the results are worth it IMO. . I also pull a 30 ft long Black Snowmobile trailer with BIG graphics down the sides, Very impressive looking when all clean rolling down the road...

Black truck????

Personally, I would never have a black vehicle of any kind, especially a truck. They're hard enough to keep clean without the hassle of the paint color. Also, they are extremely hot during the summer. I just bought a white (not my first choice, but it's growing on me) truck and can't believe the difference in the interior heat-probably 10-20 degrees cooler!

Black DUALLYS are the best!!!!

I settled for white. My last truck had a black middle with maroon top and bottom trim, the black looked great when it was cleaned up and polished. Even after 12 years and 214,000 miles.

It all depends on how much time you want to put into washing your truck. I live were it rains 364 days a year, so black was out.

My 98. 5 Dually was black with purple pinstripping and gold leaf "Dodge" on the tailgate. It was a truly beautiful truck and I loved it. That said, once was enough. It seemed that I spent more time cleaning and polishing it than I did driving it. You could see every little scratch, too. My new truck is Silver:D .

Black

I think the Black looks the best, but it is warmer inside and shows the dirt the most. When it does chip it has a white base coat that shows up. Keep some touch up paint handy!

There is only ONE color. And the sport is the only way to show it off.
