Two years back the back "seat up/down" motor stopped working. I took the seat apart removed the motor, putzed around with it cleaning the brushes, re lubricating it and so forth. Put it all back together and it went up, then down, then up again and stopped working. :{ So, I cranked it to the desired position and unplugged the motor. Looked into buying "a" replacement motor and found none to be had, dealer only item. Call dealer can only buy whole assy, frame and all 3 motors "Cha Ching" $$$ I forget exactly how much, but it was in the neighborhood of $400 +/-, which = more money than I wanted to spend.
Well last week wifey took the truck out and when she gets back informs me, "the seat won't go back, I moved it all the way up to try and make it go back, but it wouldn't". :-{} "You'll have to fix it before you can drive it because the seat is almost touching the steering wheel". #@$%! Friggin great right
I'm only like 5'10" or so, but with the seat back only about a foot away from the steering wheel I couldn't see myself driving it anywhere. I hop in and as I'm working the fwd/back button to and fro I'm pushing on the floor board to try and coax it into moving back. After about 2 - 3 minutes of this it decided to move back.
It moves forward OK but, you have to play with the switch allot to get it to move back.
Anyone know if there's a place (other than the local scrap yard) where you can purchase one or two of these motors?
