What is the best way to do this? I have a FSM but it says on one page to leave 1 3 and 4 finger tight at the inlectors and to crank the truck. The on the toher page it says 1 3 and 5. What do I need to do here? I have just insatlled the new VP and Have not sent fuel to it yet so the fuel system is completly dry from the fuel filter to the injectors.

Thanx for the help

JAMES

So how is it done do I just try to start the truck 30 sec at a time and then start snuggin down on the loose lines one at a time? HOw do i know this is working? I have never had to do this before and I have no I dea what to expect.

James

While you are cranking the fuel will begin to show at that point you will tighten the line that showed the fuel.

Bob

Crank the engine for no more than 20 seconds while having someone watch for fuel to come out the loose injection lines. As fuel becomes visible stop cranking and tighten that line. Truck will fire up and run rough for a few seconds and then smooth out. Be careful and allow the starter to cool between cranking times.

I had 1 &3 just let the fuel pump crank 3-4 times and the fuel started pushing through the lines, tightened them all up and she fiired over after 10 secs of cranking or so.

Thnax for the help she is running strong again with the Rebuilt VP. I have hooked up my FPG and noticed that the FP seems to drop from 15 to 13 and back like every 3 seconds. I also noticed that my pressures under acceleration at lower than with the old pump. Could this be from replacing the banjo bolt that hooks to the return? The pump came with a new one. Is this bolt what determines what pressure the pump starts to bypass fuel or is that electronic. I would think it was the LP but I just put on a new one and then killed the VP with High pressure high flow.
