How does one go about bleeding the injection pump on a 92 CTD?This is in conjunction with the "92 fuel problems" post from before. ALSO:confused: , in taking the tube from the intercooler to the intake manifold off, we have found oil in the tube. Possible turbo seals leaking? My friend is ready to pull the hair out of his @#$, any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Dean

Just disconnect three injector lines at a time... crank till you have some steady shots of fuel from each, tighten them down and try starting... . you should be able to get it to fire after one or two tries...

When it starts, loosen each line in turn just slightly, let it spurt and tighten up. That should purge any air in the lines and perhaps some of the rusty gunk too...

As for oil in the intercooler tubes, that can happen if the air filter is a reusable one that gets oiled after cleaning. Now you'd have to over oil it a fair bit to have signs of oil that far along in the system but it has happened.

If the turbo is on it's way out, it will draw oil and it may well start getting hard to shutdown (just the opposite of current situation) due to engine burning the oil... that too is not overly common but it has and can happen.

Sounds like it may be time for hybrid turbo ... . or at least a rebuild with new "cartridge" and balancing. .
