Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Bleeding Injectors

I just read a post that said to bleed your injectors after each fuel filter change could increase your MPG. I have never blead the injectors. Is there an article on this? Or can any one give some instruction on bleeding the injectors.

Never heard that before... ... but you crack the fuel lines at the injector while its running for a couple of seconds*****WATCH OUT FOR SPRAYING FUEL *****... ... Rick

Oh well I've got 300's go'n in soon anyways and a new fuel filter just lying around too! Oo.

Maybe a good Idea if you don't pre fill the fuel filter?

First thing is safety. The fuel pressure after the pump is 17,000psi. It can hurt you. When changing the filter, priming with the pump while allowing the air to escape the bleedoff will suffice. Your going to have to crank a bit and it will run rough but will soon smooth out.



Without a primer, it is a different story. In order to bleed the injectors, you would have someone turn over the engine while you crack each injector line nut to bleed off the air. An engine like this might run rough for a few days while the air works out.



Increase in mpg? Maybe with a magnet wrapped around the fuel lines, eh?
