I just replaced the heater core, evap core, & all 5 blend door actuators. Got everything back together and the system won’t blow through the defrost vents. When I put it on defrost, it blows out the front face vents. I’ve read about half a dozen methods for recalibrating the system and none have worked so far. Anyone have a good recalibration method for the 13 with 8.4 screen, dual zone climate?
Is it possible one of the actuators was put back on with the door oriented in the wrong position, or should that recalibrate when the system turns back on?
Any help is appreciated.

I never done it but from what I see there is a menu to do that with the scan tool. Possible AplhaOBD can do this.....

PERFORM HVAC ACTUATOR CALIBRATION TEST
1. Using the scan tool, perform the HVAC Actuator Calibration Test.

Here is some background info.

Theory of Operation

After the initial installation of the A/C Heater Module, the controller is calibrated to each individual blend/mode door actuator. These calibrations are stored as in the number of pulses it takes to move the door from one stop to another. The A/C Heater Module drives the Door Actuators by the use of Door Driver circuit and a Common Door Driver circuit and monitors all door actuator pulses to detect door movement in both directions. Most of the door actuators share a common door driver circuit but each door actuator has its own unique driver circuit. Due to shared circuitry, similar Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) can set at the same time for multiple actuators depending upon the type of circuit malfunction, its location, and the direction the actuator is moving when the malfunction is present.

So what I’ve found is one of the two center blend door actuators as well as the recirculate motor isn’t receiving a signal to move and the other is only receiving signal part of the time. At one point neither of them were moving or doing anything. I unplugged the HVAC control unit waited a few seconds then plugged it back in, and the one began working again.. Pulled the console back and took the bottom center actuator motors off… One moves, the other doesn’t move at all. what I have found by moving them manually is that both of the bottom center doors work together to move the air from the feet, to the face, to the defrost. Both should be moving and only one of those are.
I don’t have alpha OBD, but I now suspect that the HVAC control unit is bad.

Update again. I abandoned the project for about an hour. Came back, and for the first 3 minutes. All modes worked exactly like they’re supposed to multiple times. After about 3 minutes, modes don’t change like they’re supposed to again.
