Blew off Intercooler boot, please help!

Just got my HTB2 installed on my truck and went for a test drive. As soon as I got into it, I blew off the intercooler boot between the turo and intercooler. Are there any upgrades that can be done. Or how else can I solve this problem and never see it again.

Spray some hair spray on the boot. What kind of boost numbers were you running when it blew off?

I had to modify my intercooler tube to make it line up right with the discharge elbow. Misalignment may be your problem.

I have been able to keep my boots on at 60psi with the stock clamps. Just lucky I guess.



I hear the hair spray works well, but I would definetly look at alignment as well.

Keep the clamps very tight.

55 psi and held fine. Just kept the clamps tight and used hairspray as other have mentioned.

yes piers offers upgrades boots and claps. They are costly but they do hold under pressure. For just the intercooler boots I think it's about 70 bucks and for the full kit it's about 200. The clamps you can get separately but I think they are about 70 bucks. Here's a picture
