Update...

Got the new replacement gauge from Marshall installed.

This time I used the TorkTek snubber, and then put on a 1/4" hose barb with a tiny orifice. Then I added about a 30" piece of heavy duty marine grade fuel hose, then another 1/4" hose barb with tiny orifice, and then to a 1/8 nipple to the gauge. The hose barbs are boost pressure reducers that came with an Ebay Torque Plate. I had two of these sitting on the bench...

I had 24 psi at idle. And the needle is absolutely steady! No banging back and forth.

Went to loosen the lock nut on the TorkTek Overflow valve I have, and it was not even finger tight. I've never adjusted this, so it made me think... hmmm. I wonder if I've been getting air in the system from this. Adjusted the spring tension so I got 32psi at idle. Tightened down the lock nut, and went for a test drive. Truck seems to have a bit more pickup and go. Cool.

Is there a chance my PSI is not accurate with the snubber, and two hose barbs with tiny holes?

Sure am happy to see a steady needle for a change!

Since pressure does what pressure is (does that even make sense??:-laf), the tiny orfices CAN'T hold it back,... your psi should be reading as accurately as the sensor that is doing the reading and the needle guage that is doing the indicating are accurate in their manufacturing.

Glad to know that you figured out how to make it all work well !!!

Post a pic sometime??

As long as the gauge goes up when you start it, and down when shut down, it should be reasonably accurate. As accurate as the gauge is anyway.

Rob from TorkTek (nice guy who in my mind went above and beyond required customer service), suggested a longer fuel hose, as opposed to my grease gun hose. Done.

Others said they used a needle valve to help dampen those pressure spikes. I struggled to find anyone locally with a needle valve with the 1/8 ends or adapters to make them 1/8. Auto Parts store employees for the most part look at you like you have horns growing out of your head when you ask for a needle valve, even after showing them a picture. Big Box hardware stores just don't have the right combination.

Then I had the brain fart about the hose barbs that were just sitting there on the bench.

Will try to pull off the whole works and shoot a photo, and post back. If it helps other folks in my predicament, then I'm a happy camper.

Grainger type stores would have them.

I think I have an empty box in the garage, I'll see if I can get a number.

Try looking under "instrumentation" or in a large plumbing supply house.
