Yea, but if I have determined that Matt has the same problem that I do. He is too cheap to spend that kind of money!! Last time you and I talked about this you had mentioned $500. Have you found anything cheaper yet?

I'm not cheap, I'd love to go with a reman 271. I just don't have that kind of money right now. Getting married in 3 months!

LOL. Oh is that why you are an HTT dealer, to get stuff dirt cheap for yourself? J/K. I like doing things right the first time, but I think a 241 HD will be plenty for my needs. Much appreciation for your help.

241HD is a good route, 271 appears to be good. The 241HD is proven, remember when everybody thought the NV5600 was way stronger than the NV4500. I know of a big HP puller that broke 2 HV5600's and once he changed the input shaft on his 4500 he never had a problem. He even built a puller last year and put in a NV4500 in it instead of the 5600. Point 271 looks bigger, and stronger and may very well be, but the 241HD will handle plenty of abuse!!

I needed a charger to support my needs and the holsets just don't cut it.

I have to second the transfer case express, we have used them several times for customers trucks and have had pretty good luck with them. I would also reccomend you upgraded to DLD for basically the same money and get a longer lasting life out of the truck,

the problem with putting a 271 in second gen truck, is the pinion angle on the front axle. I know of two different people that have attempted that and the application just doesn't work, So I am told I have never personally attempted the conversion.

Agree the 241HD is strong enough for most. Mine only broke after the front driveline parted and took it out, and I used it as advantage to get the wife to open the purse strings for the 271 :D I also went the flanged route on the rear I didn't have any problems on the front at all but this year installed the high angle cardigan joint on the front after shredding the stocker wasn't a binding issue. The folks at transfercase exspress put the ford shift plate in mine which retained the stock shift pattern.

The front stock universal let go at the drive shaft slapped around pretty hard against the bell housing and the vibration of the impact split the t-case, tore the transmission linkage up pretty good too. I need to exstend the front loop out a little more.

AHH yea i just put a 1410 down at the bottom, used the front portion of my 2 piece rear driveshaft, and then stuck a 1410 yoke on the tansfer case. I am hoping this does the trick. I need to get another ujoint shield fabbed for the top up by the transfer case. Do you have a loop on your front shaft?? That might help with all of the moving around on it.

Yeah that is what mine is now 1410 lesson learned :)

I have a loop mounted to the pumpkin, but it could be a little longer as the shaft made its way out :(
